Apply Source Formatting in Dreamweaver for Entire Site

May 18th, 2010 Jacob Dybala No comments

Once you’ve decided how you want your code to look, set defaults to control the formatting of HTML created by Dreamweaver. Open Dreamweaver and choose Edit > Preferences > Source Format.  The only problem with the Source Format feature in Dreamweaver is that it doesn’t support formatting the entire site.

Dreamweaver can be automated to perform this task by using extensions.  One of the best (and free I might add) extensions to automate the Apply Source Formatting feature in Dreamweaver is a plugin called “Format Source” by Massimo Foti.  You can download the Format Source here.

Back online :-)

It’s been a few months that my blog was offline. Moving into my new home was and still is quite an experience. Being that this is my first home I would even call it a journey.
It’s a lot of fun setting everything up, painting, putting together furniture, servers ;-) , purchasing, etc.

I will be honest and say that at times it is hard to do all this by myself. Friends and family helped a lot – I’m grateful for any help I received; getting all this done without others would have been hard, very hard.

It’s nice to come home and see changes, more furniture each week and even more personalization. Setting up the network was not an easy task but I’m almost done, too.

The hardest part so far was getting the server rackets into the basement but we finally found a portion of a wall that was not essential :-) The space is a bit more open coming down the stairs now! ;-)
